Intelligent search
Two ways in, and they read the same archive.
Type a few words. We look at file names, at the short summary written for every document, and at the text inside it, including text read off scans and photos. Near misses and half-spelled supplier names still land on the right thing, and you can narrow by who sent it, when it arrived, or whether it was a PDF or an image.
Ask a question the way you would ask a colleague. Every answer carries links to the documents it came from, so you can open the actual invoice instead of taking our word for it.

Your assistant keeps its own notes on your account: house rules, supplier quirks, decisions and the reasons behind them. The notes stay put between conversations, so you stop re-explaining yourself every time you open a new one.
It writes the notes as it works, then reads them back at the start of the next job.
Every note is a page in the app. Open it and see exactly what your assistant thinks the rules are.
Each rewrite keeps the version before it, with the changes marked up, so you can see what moved and when.

MCP is the standard AI assistants use to reach tools outside themselves. docstore speaks it, so hooking one up is a single line rather than a project. After that your assistant can search the archive, open any document, and see your accounting data sitting next to it.

Where it all lives
Documents are stored in Amazon S3, in the form they arrived in. By default that is our bucket, with a separate space for every account. If you would rather they never sat in our account at all, we can point yours at a bucket you own instead. And if it has to stay inside your own network, docstore runs as one binary against your own Postgres and your own S3-compatible storage. All three are set out on the developers page.
